Objective: To promote my artistic works.

Statement: I am a creative individual with a firm background in “Making”. From the age of thirteen through graduation from high school I worked in my father’s cabinet shop acquiring wood-working skills and learning the value of starting with raw materials and tools and creating objects of use and beauty.

I have training and skills in many artistic techniques: Ceramics, Painting (watercolor, acrylic, & oil), Drawing (pencil, charcoal, pen & ink), Calligraphy, 3-D art (metal cutting & welding, clay, wood turning & assembly), and Photography & Digital Imaging.

My main skills and passion are in the field of photography and digital imaging. I have a compulsion to capture moments from life and create images that reveal and preserve things that may otherwise go unnoticed or unremembered.

Highlights of Qualifications:

• Photography:
• Skilled in the use of 35mm, medium format, 4”x5” press, and digital cameras.
• Skilled in darkroom and photofinishing procedures.
• Avid nature photographer.
• Lighting: Have worked with natural and studio lighting (electronic flash and incandescent).
• Own and use lenses in the range from fish-eye wide angle (16mm) to long telephoto (500mm).
• Familiar and practiced in techniques for achieving selective focus by adjustments to lens apertures and hyperfocal distance.
• Experience with using filters to modify light and achieve special effects.
• Have taught a range of photography and digital imaging classes over an eight year period for Harmon’s Photo & Video and as adjunct professor for Edison Community College in Ft. Myers, Florida.

• Computer Use:
• Have used computers since 1983.
• Very familiar with photo-manipulation software (Micrografx Picture Publisher & Adobe PhotoShop).
• Skilled in flatbed scanning and use of slide/negative scanners.

• Illustration and Design:
• Used calligraphy to caption photos in photo story book, “A Morning Walk on the Beach.”
• Created several photo-plaques with photographs and haiku verse.
• Created three different illustrated newsletters for corporate use.
