Kaleidographs can be formed from any photograph or image file. The look of the final Kaleidograph image depends on the content of the original. Interesting and graphically bold detail along the edges of the original image will mirror image into astounding Kaleidographs. Frequently, faces and mystical, fantastic creatures will appear in the center lines of the Kaleidograph. Sometimes you will get an abstract symmetical image of shapes and colors. Gallerys of Kaleidograph photos can be found here.
Generally, the original photo that makes a
good Kaleidograph doesn't look very good by itself, it is only in the mirror
imaging process of making a Kaleidograph that the potential of the photo
is realized.

There are four diffent Kaleidographs that can be formed from any original image. These variations are made by rotating and flipping the image. An example of four variations from one original can be found here. Sometimes all four variations look good. More often; only one or two variations are interesting. This varies mostly with the distribution and direction of detail in the original photo.
How to Get Your Custom Kaleidograph Made.
1. Send me an image.
This can be a photographic print up to 8 x 10 inches in size, a 35mm slide, or a digital image file you have created in a digital camera or by scanning your own photo.
2. Indicate which corner you want to be in the center of the Kaleidograph.
This will determine
what the final image will look like. If you do not indicate a choice, I
will use my judgement to make the Kaleidograph that appeals to my taste.
